Design NOTES
Dial
The hands are polished and heat-blued. They catch the light differently from the applied markers, whose main facet is brushed.
The guilloché pattern in the center evokes wild silk weaving, or perhaps braids. Its shimmer is enhanced by the reflection on the bevel that runs along the central cutout.
Movement
The movement, visible through the case back, is decorated with Côtes de Genève, perlage, and blued screws. Manual winding provides an excuse to handle the watch and feel the ticking of the mechanism. The caliber is easy to service.
Strap
The strap is made of saddle-grade calfskin (full-grain, double-tanned). The vegetable tanning allows the caramel strap to develop a patina until it becomes almost chocolate-colored.
The finish is rembordé (the edges of the leather are folded and stitched) for a perfect shape without exposed edges, with high resistance to wear.
